Road Update: Central Illinois

Central Illinois
We’ve passed the halfway mark on the “tour on the floor” and we’re headed back east after two hot weeks in the midwest. It all kicked off at the beginning of the month with Micheal Franti, Keller Williams, The Avett Bros., and of course Sol Driven Train at the asheville music jamboree. We had a great time playing, camping, and enjoying great music and people. My personal highlight was leading the children’s parade and singing “It’s a Circle” with a small army of kids and parents.
From asheville we set off for Wisconsin, driving a crooked line through Nashville, Cincinnati, and St. Louis. A week was spent in Wisconsin at Phill’s mother-in-law’s lakehouse, recording, resting, and enjoying the sun and water. The album is coming along well. We are done with the vocals and only have a few more overdubs before we begin mixing. Look for a fall release, but no promises…
After Wisconsin we played shows in Michigan and Illinois, both of which were pleasant suprises. Crowded dance floors and sweaty smiles indicated that the midwest digs what we’re doing.
We’ll be back in more familiar territory for the next two weeks before returning home: west virginia, pennsylvania, nyc, new hampshire, maryland, and north carolina are all due to.be rocked.
Thanks to everyone who’s fed usn, housed us, and listened to us along the way!!
